Stephen “Hoff” Hoffman
Hoff is a multiply-published author, a regular presenter at OpenVMS-related events, seminars and technical update days around the world, and has worked directly with OpenVMS for well over twenty years.
Whether it was called VAX/VMS, OpenVMS VAX, OpenVMS AXP, OpenVMS Alpha, or OpenVMS I64, or whether the operating system version was provided by DEC, DIGITAL, Compaq or HP, Hoff has worked on it and has supported it.
Areas of experience range from direct end-user support and escalation-level engineering support, to security reviews and audits and recovery, to device drivers and ancillary control processing and kernel-mode code, device I/O, XML and RMS and relational databases and recovery, system and cluster management, disaster-tolerant configurations, and many other tasks.
